UHS building $46M joint venture psychiatric hospital with Trinity Health

King of Prussia, Pa.-based Universal Health Services is building a 96-bed joint venture psychiatric hospital with Livonia, Mich.-based Trinity Health, MLive reported Feb. 22.

Construction on the Southridge Behavioral Hospital in Byron Township, Mich., is set to begin in the summer, the report said. It will employ about 170 providers and staff.

It is expected to cost $46 million and open in 2025, the report said. It is licensed for 72 adult beds and 24 beds for older adults and will offer treatment for conditions including depression, anxiety and substance use disorder.

The hospital will be the seventh UHS location in Michigan, the report said.
