U of Cincinnati to use $1.25M to explore PTSD therapies

PESI, an education nonprofit group based in Eau Claire, Wis., donated $1.25 million to the University of Cincinnati medical school to support research on therapies for post-traumatic stress disorder.

The school invested the funds into a three-year study to compare the effectiveness of different therapies in the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder among civilians, first responders, veterans and current military members, according to a Feb. 9 news release from PESI.

The school's researchers started their work comparing cognitive processing therapy and eye movement desensitization and reprocessing therapy in January.
