Shore Neurocognitive and Behavioral Health doubles facility in expansion

Easton, Md.-based Shore Neurocognitive and Behavioral Health has doubled its facility to allow for more support and services for aging adults and their caregivers, The Star Democrat reported Feb. 5.

"It's no secret that the demand and need for mental health services is at a critical level in our community," Beth Parker-O'Brien, founder and partner of Shore Neurocognitive, told the publication. "What you don't hear as much about is the need for specific support for aging adults and their caregivers who face a unique set of challenges. This expansion will allow us to help our clients, in groups and one-on-one, to face issues such as anxiety, depression, caregiver stress and memory problems."

The expansion includes a new large community room. The center also plans to add a psychiatric nurse practitioner and additional therapists.

The facility provides psychotherapy for adults aged 20 and older, as well as specialized care and education for aging adults and caregivers. Services include memory screening, dementia assessment and treatment, medication management, neurocognitive testing, support groups, and community conversations and training.
