Private equity-backed company acquires New York behavioral provider

PAX Health, a private equity-backed behavioral health provider, has acquired Smithtown, N.Y.-based Harris Psychiatric Services.

Harris Psychiatric Services specializes in treatment for injured workers and accident survivors, according to a Jan. 27 news release. 

In 2024, PAX Health acquired three behavioral health providers in New York and New Jersey. The acquisitions were backed by private equity firms HCAP Partners and Hamilton Lane.
