Lake Success, N.Y.-based Northwell Health has launched a community-based behavioral health program in Harlem through a collaboration with four local partners.
The “Healthy Minds, Healthy Harlem” initiative is a satellite clinic of the Outpatient Center for Mental Health at Northwell’s Lenox Hill Hospital, according to a Sept. 15 news release. It offers mental health assessments, psychotherapy and medication management to all individuals regardless of ability to pay. The program is led by David Roane, MD, chair of psychiatry at Lenox Hill Hospital.
On-site care is available every Tuesday, with virtual appointments offered throughout the week. The program is supported by $540,000 in funding from the state’s Mental Health Outpatient Treatment Rehabilitative Services and Center of Excellence grant programs, according to the news release.
