White Plains, N.Y.-based Westchester County has opened a safety-net mental health clinic.

The facility provides outpatient mental healthcare services for adults, including therapy, crisis intervention, medication management, group therapy, health assessments, referrals, peer services, interfaith support and treatment for co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, according to a March 5 news release from the county.

Demand for outpatient behavioral health services has increased since 2020, contributing to longer wait times and pressure on hospitals and emergency departments. The facility is designed to complement the county’s crisis response system, such as 988 services and hospital diversion efforts, the release said.
