Charlotte, N.C.-based Novant Health will invest $2.5 million in a new mental health center and develop a behavioral urgent care site there.

The Katie Blessing Center is set to open in early 2026. Novant Health will open a six-chair mental health urgent care center at the facility for children experiencing a mental health crisis, according to an April 3 news release.

The center is designed to be an alternative to emergency room treatment, and offer a range of behavioral health services in one space.

At the Becker's Fall Behavioral Health Summit, taking place November 4–5 in Chicago, behavioral health leaders and executives will explore strategies for expanding access to care, integrating services, addressing workforce challenges and leveraging innovation to improve outcomes across the behavioral health continuum.
