Los Angeles Jewish Health, a nonprofit senior care provider, has been awarded $28 million from the state to support the expansion of inpatient behavioral health services.

The grant is funded through a bond initiative passed by voters in 2024 to establish the state’s Behavioral Health Continuum Infrastructure Program.

California is working to modernize its behavioral health system through increased transparency, broader access, and the building of more infrastructure needed to provide care for individuals with mental illness and substance use disorders. The state aims to create more than 6,800 new residential treatment beds and 26,700 outpatient treatment slots.
