The East Central Mental Health Region's governing board in Iowa has decided to allocate $2.9 million in funding to two county mental health facilities, The Gazette reported March 23.
Linn County will receive nearly $1.9 million and Johnson County will receive $1.4 million. The region's budget was originally going to provide the counties $2.5 million in funding.
The allocation for Linn County is not set in stone due to uncertainty of whether the funds will be enough to cover provider reimbursement for staffing and services.
The two facilities serve nine counties combined in the state and are the only state-designated access centers in the region.
