The following are universities that have received funding to train mental health professionals through the U.S. Department of Education's Mental Health Service Professionals Demonstration Program that Becker's has reported on:
- Athens, W.Va.-based Concord University will use $5 million in federal funding for its programs that train mental health workers.
- Waco, Texas-based Baylor University has been granted $450,332 for its mental health training programs.
- Binghamton (N.Y.) University has received $9.3 million in federal funding for mental health professional training programs.
- The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley will receive $2.2 million for its mental health training programs to bolster the profession in the area.
