4 schools receiving funds from the Mental Health Service Professionals Demonstration Program

The following are universities that have received funding to train mental health professionals through the U.S. Department of Education’s Mental Health Service Professionals Demonstration Program that Becker’s has reported on:

  1. Athens, W.Va.-based Concord University will use $5 million in federal funding for its programs that train mental health workers. 
  2. Waco, Texas-based Baylor University has been granted $450,332 for its mental health training programs.
  3. Binghamton (N.Y.) University has received $9.3 million in federal funding for mental health professional training programs.
  4. The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley will receive $2.2 million for its mental health training programs to bolster the profession in the area.
