4 Kentucky mental health centers consolidate into one health system

Four nonprofit mental health organizations in Kentucky are forming a partnership to improve clinical programs and protect safety net services in the state's rural communities.

Bowling Green-based LifeSkills, Inc., Four Rivers Behavioral Health in Paducah, Hopkinsville-based Pennyroyal Center, and Communicare, Inc. in Elizabethtown are forming one of the largest community mental health organizations in the state, according to a press release shared with Becker's. Due diligence is nearly complete, and all four have signed a letter of intent.

The new organization's name will be announced later, the press release said. It will support more than 47,000 people each year and employ 1,700 people, including more than 220 behavioral health clinicians, in 129 different locations across 35 counties.

Joe Dan Beavers will serve as the initial CEO for the consolidated group, the press release said. The four organizations expect to finalize the partnership by July 1.
