Geisinger receives $2.3M grant to improve care for substance use patients

Danville, Pa.-based Geisinger Health has received a $2.38 million grant from the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration to expand its substance use disorder services.

The funding will be used to develop new fellowship programs to train advanced practice providers and licensed clinical social workers to provide addiction treatment in primary care settings, according to a July 5 news release.

The funding will be spread out across five years, the release said.
