Bloomington, Calif.-based Cedar House Life Change Center has secured a $3.6 million contract with Riverside County in California to run a facility in the area, NBC affiliate CNS reported April 4.
Cedar House will take over operations at Riverside, Calif.-based Arlington Recovery Center, a 54-bed drug and alcohol rehabilitation center that opened in 2021.
It was formerly run by MFI Recovery Center, which had its onsite license revoked in December following an investigation by the state's Department of Health Care Services. The facility had several state penalties in 2022 for deficient services which led to it closing down.
Though MFI continues to operate other treatment facilities, it is currently being sued by a former Riverside patient's family along with the county after the patient died of a drug overdose, according to the news outlet.
Cedar House beat out three competitors for the facility. It will offer addiction treatment services for 60 days at a time, with a goal to have patients recovered in 30 days.
