Nashville, Tenn.-based Newport Healthcare has named Brent Nelson, MD, chief innovation and optimization officer, a newly created executive role, effective Jan. 29.
Dr. Nelson will work across Newport’s inpatient, residential and outpatient behavioral health programs to advance clinical quality and operational efficiency, according to a Jan. 29 news release. He will continue to see patients on a limited basis and will chair the organization’s Care Council, which includes internal and external medical leaders focused on care innovation and quality oversight.
He previously served as chief medical information officer and led the Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation program for Newport’s PrairieCare program.
