New York City-based Talkspace has acquired Wisdo Health, an AI-powered social health and peer support platform.
The acquisition expands Talkspace’s capabilities to address loneliness and social isolation, which affect nearly half of U.S. adults, according to an Oct. 6 news release from the online behavioral healthcare provider.
Wisdo Health’s platform uses patented precision-matching technology informed by more than 100 million peer interactions. Users are matched with trained peers and given access to more than 30 moderated communities and group coaching. Research cited by Talkspace found that Wisdo reduced loneliness and depression by up to 28% and improved quality of life.
Talkspace will integrate Wisdo into its care model to strengthen engagement across the mental health continuum, according to the release. The company aims to provide continuous peer support before, during and after therapy, and expand cross-referral opportunities within its payer and employer networks.
