Headspace has launched Therapy by Headspace, its direct-to-consumer therapy offering.

Santa Monica, Calif.-based Headspace has offered therapy through employers and health plans for more than 10 years, according to a June 17 news release.

Here are five things to know:

  1. Headspace is in-network with more than 45 insurers and will add more in the coming months. Most individuals will pay less than $35 per session.

  2. Therapy will cost $149 per session out of pocket for individuals whose insurance is not in network, according to the release.

  3. The company has pivoted toward direct-to-consumer services in the past year. In 2024, Headspace launched a mental health coaching option. These coaches could not provide mental health or medical diagnoses.

  4. Headspace has also doubled down on AI efforts. In 2024, the company created Ebb, a chatbot designed to support users’ mental health.

  5. In the coming months, Ebb will roll out member assessments through Ebb and generate personalized care plans for each member, according to the release.
