BCBSTX members are able to access care two to three times faster on average through mental health provider database Headway, according to a June 7 news release. Headway reported that 76 percent of BCBSTX members see an improvement in a clinical assessment in the first 30 days.
BCBSTX has also taken other steps to address mental health needs in Texas, including giving $820,000 to 21 nonprofits across the state to tackle gaps in behavioral health care and launching BCBSTX’s 13th outdoor fitness court, the release said.
At the Becker's Fall Behavioral Health Summit, taking place November 4–5 in Chicago, behavioral health leaders and executives will explore strategies for expanding access to care, integrating services, addressing workforce challenges and leveraging innovation to improve outcomes across the behavioral health continuum.
