The programs aim to address the stressors from working in agriculture, including market conditions, weather inconsistencies, workforce shortages, and plant and animal health concerns, the report said.
Extension is currently offering two rural wellness programs, with one focusing on “ambiguous loss” such as divorce, addiction or health conditions, and another focusing on rural suicide prevention.
The suicide prevention program trains Nebraskans to use key techniques, including identifying warning signs and knowing how to offer help. Nebraskans can also call the rural response hotline at 800-464-0258.
