Columbus, Ohio-based Maryhaven President and CEO Oyauma Garrison has stepped down after reaching a mutual agreement with the behavioral health provider’s board of directors, ABC affiliate WSYX reported July 15.
Mr. Garrison will remain with the behavioral health provider for the next 30 days to assist with leadership transition efforts as the board identifies an interim CEO and begins a national search for a permanent successor. He has served as CEO since 2022.

- His departure comes as the Alcohol, Drug and Mental Health Board of Franklin County (ADAMH) continues to raise concerns about Maryhaven’s financial stability. According to a July 15 report from WSYX, the agency said it has provided the organization with more than $3 million in financial support during the past year, including $1.55 million in levy-funded advances and a $1.5 million Electronic Health Records Financial Distress Grant approved by the Franklin County Board of Commissioners in 2025.
- ADAMH said Maryhaven recorded a cumulative net loss exceeding $1.8 million during the first four months of 2026, ended April with fewer than five days of cash on hand and had more than $2.4 million in outstanding accounts payable. The agency also cited an independent audit that questioned the organization’s ability to continue operating.
- Maryhaven said it plans to retain an independent financial advisory firm to review its revised financial sustainability plan before submitting it to ADAMH by July 31. The organization said delays tied to its transition between two EHR and billing systems contributed to its financial challenges by slowing billing and revenue collection.
