This marks the first time applicants will be required to expand or add mental health services to be eligible for school-based funding, according to a March 10 news release from the department.
The HRSA aims to dole out 70 awards to fund general primary medical and mental healthcare to new and existing school-based sites. The funding is part of the Biden administration’s effort to strengthen mental health across the country, the release said.
