Psychiatry residency programs received more than 130,000 views on FREIDA in 2025, according to rankings based on medical student activity from Jan. 1. through Dec. 31. 

FREIDA, the American Medical Association’s fellowship and residency database, includes more than 13,000 residency and fellowship programs accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education. The rankings measured user interest across 331 psychiatry residency programs according to a 2025 ranking release, according to a Feb. 26 release from the American Medical Association.

Here are the 10 schools ranked at the top for user interest:

  1. BronxCare Health System Program (New York City)
  1. Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai/NYC Health and Hospitals (Elmhurst) Program (Elmhurst, N.Y.)
  1. St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center Program (Boston)
  1. University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center Program (Dallas)
  1. Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai/Morningside/West Program (New York City)
  1. Mass General Brigham/Massachusetts General Hospital/McLean Hospital Program (Boston)
  1. University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston Program (Houston)
  1. Yale-New Haven Medical Center Program (New Haven, Conn.)
