HHS is preparing a research initiative focused on using AI and other technologies to better understand autism development and find opportunities for earlier intervention, Bloomberg News reported Sept. 16.
Known as SPECTRA, the program will examine existing data and identify gaps in understanding the biology associated with the condition, according to a draft document reviewed by Bloomberg News.
The initiative will be housed within the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health, an HHS division that supports accelerated biomedical research aimed at potential breakthroughs.
At the Becker's Fall Behavioral Health Summit, taking place November 4–5 in Chicago, behavioral health leaders and executives will explore strategies for expanding access to care, integrating services, addressing workforce challenges and leveraging innovation to improve outcomes across the behavioral health continuum.
