Seventeen hospitals were recognized as U.S. News and World Report’s 2026-2027 Best Hospitals for Psychiatry, the company announced Aug. 4.
Psychiatry rankings are based on expert opinion. The rankings draw on three years of surveys of physician specialists, who are asked which hospitals they’d trust with their sickest patients. Each physician’s response is weighted so the results reflect the consensus of all specialists surveyed, not just those who happened to respond. Hospitals nominated by a weighted average of at least 3% of respondents earn a national “Best Hospitals” ranking in that specialty.
