Las Vegas-based Brothers Behavioral Health owner Isai Anaya-Estrada has been sentenced for fraudulently billing Medicaid for services never provided and ordered to repay nearly $48,000 in restitution, 8 News Now reported Dec. 29.

Anaya-Estrada was convicted of submitting false claims and failing to maintain adequate records. The fraudulent billing occurred between January 2021 and January 2023.

The Medicaid Fraud Control Unit launched an investigation after receiving a referral about overbilling. Investigators found Anaya-Estrada knowingly submitted claims for unprovided services and confirmed with Medicaid recipients that the billed services had not occurred.

Anaya-Estrada had the original sentence of 365 days in jail suspended and was placed on probation for one year.
