Houston-based Texas Children’s has received a $5 million estate gift made by philanthropist Barbara LeGrange to support its behavioral health initiative.
The planned gift — made prior to her death — includes $1 million in immediate funding and additional endowed support to be realized over time, according to an April 10 news release from the system.
Texas Children’s has expanded access to care through its Texas Children’s Pediatrics network, embedding behavioral health clinicians in 28 primary care clinics. The system said additional clinics will join the initiative, which includes outpatient programs, mobile clinics and specialized support in emergency centers.
