A $10 million grant from Bank of America will support Boston Children’s Hospital’s plans for a pediatric behavioral health campus in Brighton, Mass.
Boston Children’s will develop the space on the campus of Franciscan Children’s, which became part of the Boston Children’s health system in 2023, according to an Oct. 1 news release from the system.
Plans for the Brighton campus call for single-patient rooms and specialized programs for children with autism and intellectual and developmental disabilities. The campus will provide inpatient, outpatient and rehabilitation services, and the added capacity is expected to help shorten wait times and support earlier intervention.
The project is expected to create between 150 and 200 new jobs in the community, along with 3,320 construction jobs throughout the project.
Boston Children’s is a 491-bed comprehensive center for pediatric and adolescent healthcare. The organization has nine satellite locations and provides 24/7 pediatric care at five hospitals.
At the Becker's Fall Behavioral Health Summit, taking place November 4–5 in Chicago, behavioral health leaders and executives will explore strategies for expanding access to care, integrating services, addressing workforce challenges and leveraging innovation to improve outcomes across the behavioral health continuum.
