Las Vegas Recovery Hospital has begun operations as Southern Nevada’s first hospital to combine acute medical care and addiction recovery services, KSNV reported Jan. 29.

The 68-bed hospital spans 32,000 square feet and is operated by Lakewood, N.J.-based Lion Health System. The facility is designed to serve patients who have substance use disorders alongside other medical conditions, the report said.

To establish the hospital and avoid delays, Lion Health converted the third and fourth floors of a medical facility on the Rose de Lima campus in Henderson, Nev., for hospital use.
