Staten Island, N.Y.-based Richmond University Medical Center launched Youth Assertive Community Treatment (ACT), a community-based behavioral health program for individuals ages 10 to 24.

The program is based at the Staten Island Mental Health Society, a division of Richmond University Medical Center, according to a July 8 Facebook post from the system. A multidisciplinary team will provide therapy, psychiatric evaluations, medication management, peer support and crisis intervention in community settings.

The health system also unveiled a Youth ACT mobile services van that will allow the team to provide care at homes, schools and other community locations. Richmond University Medical Center said the Youth ACT program van is the only vehicle of its kind in New York state, according to the post.

At the Becker's Fall Behavioral Health Summit, taking place November 4–5 in Chicago, behavioral health leaders and executives will explore strategies for expanding access to care, integrating services, addressing workforce challenges and leveraging innovation to improve outcomes across the behavioral health continuum.
