In 2024, Cigna’s Evernorth Behavioral Care Group launched to address rising behavioral health needs, beginning with virtual services in six markets and a network of 1,000 providers.
As of November, Evernorth has expanded to more than 5,000 providers across all 50 states, with plans to grow to more than 15,000 providers in 2026, according to a Dec. 3 news release from the organization. Evernorth now offers in-person appointments alongside its digital platform.
Appointments are available nationwide within 72 hours, a move intended to improve timely access to behavioral health services.
The group’s operational model emphasizes measurement-informed care, with providers using evidence-based tools to track patient outcomes and adjust treatment plans accordingly. Evernorth said 84% of its patients achieved a clinically significant reduction in depression or anxiety symptoms.
Arianna Arneson, clinical director of Evernorth Behavioral Care Group, said the group’s provider matching process is designed to pair individuals with clinicians who have the appropriate expertise, according to the release.
