Gray, Tenn.-based Frontier Health has expanded its virtual behavioral health urgent care model to serve clients across the broader community.
The program launched in January 2024 as a pilot and has grown over the past two years to provide rapid access to care for existing clients, according to an April 28 news release from the system. The expansion extends those services to individuals throughout the region.
The model offers same- or next-day intake appointments, with clients meeting virtually with a care coordinator and a psychiatric-trained medical provider. Therapy services are not available the same day, though referrals may be made during the initial visit, according to the release.
Frontier Health offers behavioral health, substance use and related services.
At the Becker's Fall Behavioral Health Summit, taking place November 4–5 in Chicago, behavioral health leaders and executives will explore strategies for expanding access to care, integrating services, addressing workforce challenges and leveraging innovation to improve outcomes across the behavioral health continuum.
