Talkiatry, BetterHelp ink deal: 3 things to know

Talkiatry will provide telepsychiatry services to BetterHelp’s business clients, according to a Sept. 27 news release from the companies.

Here are three things to know: 

  1. Talkiatry employs more than 300 psychiatrists. BetterHelp has partnerships with more than 1,000 employers and health plans. Through the partnership, BetterHelp members can receive psychiatry services. 
  2. BetterHelp, part of Teladoc, provides direct-to-consumer virtual therapy. In July, Teladoc said it would pivot its strategy to focus on contracting directly with insurers. 
  3. In April, Talkiatry struck a deal with HCA Healthcare, the largest health system in the U.S., to receive referrals for patients in need of urgent mental healthcare.
