New partnership uses AI to tackle suicide prevention in Ohio

The national nonprofit health plan CareSource is partnering with Clarigent Health to bring artificial intelligence to behavioral health providers in Ohio as an innovative way to identify patients displaying warning signs of suicide.

The AI will use vocal indicators and patient-reported symptoms to spot patients at risk for suicide and other mental health issues such as depression and anxiety, according to a May 10 press release.

The Ohio Children's Alliance and Ohio Behavioral Health Provider network will bring the technology to their combined network of over 265,000 patients.

CareSource also facilitates youth-led prevention programs, respite care, and an app made to improve the mental health of children and teenagers.
