Artificial intelligence startup TQIntelligence created an app designed to use voice samples to help diagnose mental health issues in children, WSB-TV 2 reported Oct. 31.
Therapists use the voice samples collected with the app, along with information including a child's diagnosis and background, to identify those in crisis, the report said. It is also used to monitor patients' treatment progress.
Google, Blue Cross Blue Shield and the National Science Foundation have collectively invested about $1.5 million in the technology, the report said.
