Digital mental healthcare startups raised $5.1B in 2021

Digital health startups focused on mental healthcare raised the most money out of any clinical healthcare startups in 2021 and nearly doubled year-over-year funding, according to Rock Health.

In 2017, mental healthcare digital startups raised $500 million. Funding grew steadily in the subsequent years until mental healthcare startups commanded $2.7 billion in 2020 and then $5.1 billion in 2021. The startups focused on mental healthcare that raised the most money last year include Lyra Health, with $200 million, and NOCD, with $33 million.
