Around half of mental health practitioners surveyed by Wiley said they have used generative AI in some form in their practice in the past year.
The report, published Dec. 8, surveyed over 400 psychologists, counselors, psychotherapists, psychiatrists and social workers. Of those surveyed, 55% said they have used generative AI in their work in the past year, with ChatGPT being the most commonly used tool.
Here are the four most common ways practitioners used AI in their work:
- Generating material and documents
- Researching information and treatments
- Getting explanations to questions
- Writing material, responses or notes
Of those surveyed, around four in five said they felt positive about using AI in their practice.
