4 recent hacks and data breaches at mental health clinics

Since the beginning of March, four mental health centers have reported data breaches or hacking incidents affecting a total of 36,261 people, according to the HHS breach portal. 

Two of the centers are in New Hampshire, one is in California and one is in Minnesota.

Greater Nashua Mental Health and the Mental Health Center of Greater Manchester, both in New Hampshire, reported incidents May 4 and April 22, respectively. Greater Nashua Mental Health's incident involved 1,085 people, and the Mental Health Center of Greater Manchester's involved 1,322 people.

The Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health reported a hacking incident involving 5,129 people on April 20. Elk River-based Central Minnesota Mental Health Center reported the largest incident of the four, with 28,725 people affected, on March 17.
