The Cigna Group is providing $9 million in funding to nonprofit organizations to provide mental health support to youth.
The funding will go to 22 organizations, according to an Aug. 5 news release. The funding will go toward programs in schools and related settings to address post-pandemic stress among youth aged 5 to 18.
The goals of the first year of the grant program are to expand programming to foster social-emotional skills and well-being for kids and increase the number of parents and caregivers who feel equipped to support youth.
The funding is also intended to extend pathways for mental health intervention and improve access to care, according to the news release.
