The administration has provided funding for mental health services at 177 clinics across the city and 80 shelters to aid the homeless, according to a Feb. 9 announcement on the mayor’s website sharing the ways the city has increased access to mental health services since the start of the pandemic.
The Trauma-Informed Centers of Care network has grown from 50 staff members in 2019 to 100 in 2023.
The city has also increased its budget for mental health, allocating $89 million this year toward services, up from $12 million in 2019.
CDPH is also partnering with Chicago Public Libraries, which will allow mental health professionals to provide care at libraries in Chicago.
