10 states with the most at-risk youth

Louisiana is the state with the highest share of at-risk youth, according to a ranking published by WalletHub July 24.

The financial advice organization ranked states based on youth education and employment and health. The ranking accounted for several factors, including rates of youth depression, drinking and drug use, labor force participation and educational attainment. 

Here are the states with the highest shares of at-risk youth, according to WalletHub:

  3. West Virginia 
  4. Alaska 
  5. Arkansas
  6. Oklahoma
  7. Mississippi
  8. Montana
