Wisconsin allocating $14M for new behavioral health providers, youth mental health

Wisconsin is allocating $14.1 million in American Rescue Plan Act funds to bolster youth mental health services and grow the behavioral health workforce, Lake Geneva Regional News reported Aug. 15.

Milwaukee-based Children's Wisconsin is using $5 million to support a new pediatric psychology residency program, the report said. The hospital will also use the funding to improve youth mental health services.

The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater is using the remaining amount, more than $9 million, to expand the state's behavioral health workforce, the report said.
