West Virginia University opens crisis support center

Martinsburg-based West Virginia University Berkeley Medical Center and University Healthcare Physicians opened a new crisis stabilization center, the Journal reported Nov. 9.

The West Virginia University Medicine Crisis Support and Recovery Center is a 16-bed facility in Martinsburg that provides acute detox and mental health stabilization treatment, including medication management, withdrawal management, individual and group therapies, case management and discharge planning and nursing services.

The center will accept all Medicaid patient insurance and there will be a self-pay option, according to the report.
