The money will be provided via HHS’ Mental Health & Substance Abuse Service Grant Program, according to an Oct. 13 news release from Sen. Shelley Moore Capito.

The funds will be distributed to four state behavioral health initiatives:

  1. $1,678,044 to the West Virginia Integration of Primary and Behavioral Health Care Program, which integrates behavioral health services into primary care.
  2. $1 million each to three divisions of the state’s Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics Program, providing behavioral health and substance use treatment systems in three West Virginia cities:

    • Valley HealthCare System (Morgantown)
    • Prestera Center (Huntington)
    • FMRS Health Systems (Beckley)

At the Becker's Fall Behavioral Health Summit, taking place November 4–5 in Chicago, behavioral health leaders and executives will explore strategies for expanding access to care, integrating services, addressing workforce challenges and leveraging innovation to improve outcomes across the behavioral health continuum.
