Wellness-oriented platform Vitality Group taps new CEO

Vitality Group, creators of a mental health and well-being program, named Maia Surmava its CEO July 12.

Ms. Surmava formerly worked for Discover, Vitality Group’s parent company. In March, she was named chief information officer of South Africa’s largest private insurer, Vitality Health, where she launched Amplify Health, a pan-Asian insurance technology joint venture between digital health technology company AIA Group and Discovery Group. 

“As CEO, Maia will continue to lead the growth of our wellness business and bring to the U.S. our proven global health tech solutions,” Elena Sterlin, senior vice president of Vitality Group USA’s portfolio of businesses, said in a July 12 news release from the company
