Washington state invests $30M in mental health services

The Washington State Department of Social and Health Services has invested $30 million in mental health services, ABC affiliate KOMO News reported Nov. 21.

The funding will support the new 136-bed facility Olympic Heritage Behavioral Health in Tukwila, which aims to free up bed space at state hospitals, including Western State Hospital in Lakewood, to provide competency restoration services to patients in need of court-ordered mental health evaluations.
