Washington county spends $4.8M to buy building for second recovery center

Benton County, Wash., has opted to spend $4.8 million to buy a building to use for a future regional mental health facility over leasing the property, according to a July 5 report from the Tri-City Herald.

Purchasing the property will allow the Benton Franklin Behavioral Health Advisory Committee to manage grants for the project, according to county officials. The new facility will be used for crisis stabilization, 23-hour observation and secure withdrawal.
