“We have shown that supplementation with a high dose of a single vitamin B6 can influence behavioral outcomes such as self-reported anxiety,” the researchers said.
The school of psychology and clinical language sciences at the University of Reading in England conducted a five-year study of 478 participants who were given either Vitamin B6, Vitamin B12, or placebo tablets and tracked the subject’s responses on mental health questionnaires during the course of the study.
According to the researchers, the findings show the potential effectiveness of nutrition-based psychiatry treatment for conditions such as anxiety and depression.
