Led by U.S. Conference of Mayors Vice President Mayor Hillary Schieve, the task force will work closely with U.S. Surgeon General Vivek Murthy, MD, on solutions and best practices for getting people needed mental health help and resources.
“Mental health is one of the great challenges of our time, and that means mayors are going to be playing a leading role answering it,” Mr. Suarez said in a June 5 press release. “Already cities are devoting resources for those in need, and I know this Task Force will be an engine for innovation and solutions.”
At the Becker's Fall Behavioral Health Summit, taking place November 4–5 in Chicago, behavioral health leaders and executives will explore strategies for expanding access to care, integrating services, addressing workforce challenges and leveraging innovation to improve outcomes across the behavioral health continuum.
