The new facility, located on the city’s South Side, will serve children and teens with emotional and behavioral needs, autism and developmental needs, those who have experienced trauma and mothers with mood challenges during and after pregnancy, according to a Jan. 26 news release from UPMC.
The location will be home to the UPMC Matilda Theiss Child Development Center, which is a part of the National Child Traumatic Stress Network. It will also add a location for the UPMC New and Expectant Mothers Specialized Treatment Program.
Patients at the new facility will have access to resources that include outpatient services at the UPMC Center for Autism and Developmental Disorders, the Early Intensive Behavioral Intervention program and the Therapeutic Early Autism program, the release said.
