UCSF Langley Porter Psychiatric Hospital will start accepting patients at its new space within UCSF Mount Zion Medical Center in San Francisco on Aug. 19.
The change in location expands the hospital's capacity from 22 beds to 30, according to an Aug. 17 article from UCSF. Other design improvements will allow the hospital to serve 40 percent more patients overall, in addition to the increase in capacity.
The hospital will offer 24-hour medical, psychological and other consultative care for adults with severe psychiatric conditions, as well as a partial hospitalization program, individual therapy, medication management, mindfulness and behavioral therapy.
The hospital will also offer an intensive, three-hour-per-day outpatient program over a six- to eight-week period for patients with less severe diagnoses.
