Behavioral Health Business polled 84 mental health professionals from Nov. 14, 2021 to Jan. 17, 2022.
Here are highlights of the findings:
- 68 percent of respondents cited staffing as the biggest issue facing the mental health industry aside from pandemic-related issues
- 95 percent of respondents predict that the use of telehealth will continue to rise or at least stay at the current level going forward
- 78 percent of respondents expect staffing changes to be the biggest industry expense
The respondents said the greatest upcoming opportunities for the industry are expanding services, incorporating value-based care, improving telehealth care methods and treating underserved communities.
